As IT Manager for one of our key clients, you will oversee technology operations, spending, and strategy for a group of 100 employees (growing rapidly). You would also have the responsibility for capital allocation and budgets, technology and architecture choices, relationships and negotiations with key vendors, outside consultants and integrators, as well as general issues of IT strategy.
The role has a broad mandate and consequently requires a high-impact executive with an expansive record of accomplishments. The winning candidate will have deep knowledge of core IT, business applications, and enterprise-wide issues along with a pragmatic, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude focused on getting things done. Key requirements are initiative, impeccable integrity, an ability to succeed in a challenging financial services environment, and demonstrate success in principal areas identified below.
Specific initial projects include rolling out our core website in major languages worldwide, building our internal operations infrastructure most likely on a Salesforce platform, integrating client technology with Evalueserve's existing technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Assume ultimate authority and accountability for all IT aspects across the group, including (i) core IT concerns (infrastructure, architecture and standards-setting, application development and maintenance, integration, and data integrity), (ii) business applications (financials/accounting, supply chain, CRM, etc.), and (iii) enterprise-wide concerns (security, privacy, risk management including business continuity, and compliance).
- Oversee the selection, approval, and management of all major procured IT products and services – periodically reviewing all major IT contracts entered into by the companies, vendor relationships, and key negotiations.
- Assist companies in developing cost-effective budgets and resource allocation choices, tied to ROI and business case analyses
- Oversee the internal technology function, including desktop support, disaster recovery, back-office needs, and compliance
Qualifications
- 5-10 years work experience (including a technical degree and possibly an MBA) encompassing responsibility for a large P&L or technology budget, or as a principal/partner at a leading consulting/integration firm
- Broad-based technology experience in infrastructure and applications deployment, complemented by exposure to leading vendors and technology choices, with a deep base of knowledge and pattern recognition upon to base decisions
- Demonstrated business knowledge – financial and operational acumen that points to an investor/owner mindset vs that of a bleeding-edge visionary
